Salem business cited for health and safety violations
SALEM
MM Industries, 36135 Salem Grange Road, will comply with the findings from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which this week cited MM with up to $102,600 in fines for 38 serious safety and health violations.
Twenty-eight of the violations involve not knowing the weight capacity of a floor for overhead stocking and 12 deal with a failure to have a written respiratory protection problem.
Under guidelines, a business has 15 business days to comply, request a hearing with an area OSHA director or contest the findings. An MM representative, when contacted by The Vindicator, said the company will comply and acknowledged the facility, build in 1968, needs some safety improvements.
MM Industries fabricates filtration systems.
