The City of Hubbard has a new police chief.

On Wednesday, James Taafe officially was sworn in.

Vindicator news partner TV 21 WFMJ reported that Taafe has been with the police department for 26 years, and served as interim chief from 2005 to 2006. He was a detective from 2006 to 20-11.

Taafe replaces Chief Martin Kanetsky who retired in June.
