Houseband, The Rage at Sports Grille event

BOARDMAN

Youngstown Sports Grille, 7463 South Ave., will have the Summer of Love music festival Friday, beginning at 5 p.m., with music by The Houseband, The Rage and three other bands. Activities will include a bounce-around, dunking booth, face painting, carnival games, a Ferris Wheel and a fireworks display.

Family Fun Night at Boardman Park

Family Fun Night in the Park will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre in Boardman Park. This free event will include music by Backbeat from 6:30 to 8 p.m., followed by Carmel the Clown at 8:15 p.m. The movie “Finding Nemo” will begin at dusk. Other activities will include Jocko the Clown, hayrides, a bounce-around and food concessions. Bring blankets or lawn chairs.

Amusement-park efforts honored

Conneaut Lake, PA.

Members of the National Amusement Park Historical Association will visit Conneaut Lake Park on Saturday to present a plaque in recognition of the ongoing effort to preserve and restore the property. NAPHA is an international organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of amusement and theme parks.

Easy Street show at Morley Pavilion

YOUNGSTOWN

Easy Street Productions will present a free Broadway-style concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Morley Pavilion in Mill Creek Park’s Wick Recreation Area off McCollum Road. The 90-minute show will feature many of Easy Street’s regular vocalists as well as the Easy Street Dancers, Little Rascals and the Little Big Band. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. The event is sponsored by St. Elizabeth Health Center, St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, St. Peter and Paul Church and Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, which are all celebrating 100-year anniversaries.

Christian ballet troupe to have auditions

Job’s Ballet, a professional touring ballet company with a Christian perspective, will have auditions for dancers at 3 p.m. Aug. 20 at its studio at 615 Boardman-Canfield Road, unit B. The company will create ballets similar to “Ruth,” “Hiding Place” and “The Journey of the Prodigal Son.”
