Pittsburgh police seek man for info in 3-year-old's shooting
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police want to talk to an 18-year-old man who was with a 3-year-old boy when the child was shot in the head.
Lt. Daniel Hermann says police believe Zy’Miere Sewell’s death early Tuesday may have been an accident, but they can’t determine that without first speaking to Gregory Dalton, who has been described a friend of the boy’s mother.
Police say Dalton was in a bedroom with Zy’Miere and a 1-year-old baby when the toddler was shot while the children were on a mattress watching television about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Witnesses tell police Dalton grabbed the gun and ran out of the home after the shooting, and they’ve been unable to find him.
Dalton hasn’t been charged and police say they’re trying to determine if Dalton or the toddler had the gun when it fired.
