Ohio man trapped under newly washed van

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) — Police here say a man was seriously injured when he was run over by his own van after he took it through a gas station car wash.

Middletown police say the first officer on the scene early today in the southwest Ohio community found 53-year-old David Bare stuck under his full-size van. Firefighters also responded and had to cut through the vehicle’s undercarriage to free Bare.

Police say in a news release that the Middletown resident was hospitalized in critical condition. They’re asking any witnesses to come forward to help investigators trying to figure out how Bare got pinned.
