SALINEVILLE
State Rep. Craig Newbold of Columbiana, D-1st, will host office hours from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Salineville Village Hall 60 E. Main St.
The guidelines for the office hours are: Individuals will be required to fill out an information form; Newbold will meet with only one individual at time; each individual will have a maximum of 20 minutes to meet with Newbold depending on turnout. If there is no one waiting, that time can be extended.
Public hearing set
GREENVILLE, PA.
The Pennsylvania House Majority Policy Committee will have a public hearing from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday on the cost of doing business in Pennsylvania at Sawhill Georgian Room, Howard Miller Student Center, Thiel College, 75 College Ave.
This is one of a series of hearings looking into job creation and retention and work-force development.
The hearing will be streamed live at RepMicheleBrooks.com and pagoppolicy.com beginning at 1:55 p.m.
Family fun night
Boardman
Boardman Township Park will have its next family fun night in the park at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre. This free event is for kids of all ages. Sing, dance or just enjoy the music of Backbeat, who will be playing from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Starting at 8:15 p.m., Carmel the Clown will entertain. The movie, “Finding Nemo” will follow at dark. Other activities include Jocko the Clown, hayrides, bouncers and more. Food concessions will be available. Bring blankets or lawn chairs.
Community Day
LIBERTY
Belmont Pines Hospital, along with the Liberty fire and police departments, will have Liberty’s seventh annual Community Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the front lawn of the hospital at 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
There will be a SpongeBob jumper for younger children, games and prizes, clowns, and popcorn, cotton candy, snow-cones, pizza and drinks for free. The Alpine Tower will be open for the public to climb. A bicycle will be raffled. Police and fire officials will answer questions about equipment they use. Jim Moran, a local musician, will provide entertainment.
Electricity shutoff
COLUMBIANA
Electricity will be shut off to part of the city for about three hours starting at 10:30 p.m. Thursday to facilitate maintenance work on the electrical system, city officials said. The areas affected will be south of the Fairfield School Road/Fairfield Avenue Y intersection, all of Kelly Park Road and parts of Metz Road.
