Dems pick Pinkard for 3rd Ward post
YOUNGSTOWN — Nate Pinkard, a retired 28-year Mill Creek Park Police Department officer including 17 years as chief, is the new Youngstown 3rd Ward councilman.
Mahoning County Democratic Party precinct committee members from the city’s 3rd Ward elected Pinkard today to replace Jamael Tito Brown, who resigned Aug. 1 to become city council president.
Pinkard received five of the eight votes cast by the precinct committee members.
He will fill out the rest of Brown’s unexpired term, which ends Dec. 31, and will replace Brown on the November general election ballot as the Democratic nominee for a full four-year term.
