Sammarone, Brown sworn in today to new city positions


YOUNGSTOWN ­— They’ve been on the job for more than a week, but Youngstown Mayor Charles Sammarone and council President Jamael Tito Brown took their oaths of office at 4 p.m. today for their new positions.

Sammarone wanted to wait until his children and grandchildren could attend his swearing-in ceremony so he postponed it until today.

Sammarone and Brown started their new jobs Aug. 1.
