Kennywood to open for holiday season
West Mifflin, PA
Kennywood Park will launch Holiday Lights, a new holiday event, this December. The Pittsburgh-area amusement park will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Holiday Lights will feature a light show featuring tens of thousands of lights set to holiday songs in the lagoon area several times each night.
Rides will include the Carousel, Kangaroo, Paratrooper, Olde Kennywood Railroad and several rides in Kiddieland. Go to Kennywood.com.
Green Dynasty CD release party
YOUNGSTOWN
Recording artist Green Dynasty (Michael and Paul Green), along with their siblings Ebony Rose and Joshua Green, have established the national MSGSMS scholarship, which will be presented Aug. 28 during Jazz in the Park at the B&O station, downtown. The 3 p.m. concert will be part of a three-day event, Aug. 26-28, that will culminate with the release of Green Dynasty’s new CD.
Guest artists will include Willie Norwood of the VH1’s “Family Business,” contemporary Christian artist Don Thomas, Billy Beck, Derek Dixie (Making His Band), jazz pianist James Weidman, Rick Ward, Melo V and Pryslezz.
