Man sought in 2004 stabbing death in Pa. arrested

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania say they have captured a man being sought in a stabbing death nearly seven years ago.

Police in Allegheny County say 36-year-old Anthony Morgan of Pittsburgh was taken into custody today at a construction site in the city, where he was working as a roofer.

Authorities said in March that they were seeking Morgan in the September 2004 death of 25-year-old Deon Thomas in suburban Mount Oliver.

Police said they questioned Morgan about a month after the slaying, and he told them he had purchased drugs from the victim several times, but they believe he went into hiding soon after he was questioned.

Police said Morgan was taken to Allegheny County Jail on a criminal homicide charge; it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
