Info still sparse to help solve Youngstown double homicide

YOUNGSTOWN — Police say information from the public about the weekend double homicide was sketchy, but information has been coming in and detectives are working those leads.

Oscar Teague of Wirt Street, 56, and Jasmon Reeder, 19, of Superior Street, were killed early Saturday morning in Teague’s home. There were reportedly no witnesses to the double murder, and police have not made an arrest.

Police Capt. Rod Foley said people were reluctant to come forward and speak with officers about the crime. He said police, in the first 24 hours after the bodies were discovered, had little information to go on, but calls concerning the murders are beginning to filter through the police hotline — 330-746-CLUE (2583).

“We are definitely starting to get some people calling in now. ... The detectives are out chasing down that information,” Foley said.
