“teen choice 2011” (8 p.m., Fox): Adults, back off. It’s time for “Teen Choice 2011,” the awards show that celebrates the people in TV, movies, sports and fashion who the kids think are cool. Something tells us “Twilight” and “Glee” might collect some hardware.

“Curiosity” (8 p.m., discovery): How would we survive an alien attack? Could living like a caveman make us healthier? This new series attempts to tackle these intriguing questions and others without making it seem like so much homework.

“falling skies” (9 p.m., tnt): The freshman season of the show offers the opening half of a two-hour season finale and yet we’re still wondering: When does Chicken Little show up?

Playhouse offers ‘Biloxi Blues’

NEW CASTLE, PA.

“Biloxi Blues” opens Friday at New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave., and runs for three weekends.

The Neil Simon play is directed by Paul Angelucci. Friday and Saturday curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are 2 p.m.

Event will benefit mental disorders

The Jimmy Lee Project will hold a fundraiser for the Riverbend Center from 3-10 p.m. Saturday at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave.

Coordinated by Krystina Boano, the event is being held in memory of James Lee Gruhlkey. After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the 24-year-old took his life March 2. Gruhlkey and Boano had booked the B&O Station for Aug. 13 for their wedding.

Riverbend Center is a local nonprofit organization that helps those suffering from mental disease.

The event will include bands, artists, food and merchandise vendors. Admission is $5 (free for children under 12), with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Riverbend Center. For information, go to facebook.com/thejimmyleeproject or email krystina.boano@ymail.com.
