Simmonses mark 50th anniversary by renewing vows

YOUNGSTOWN
Mount Zion Baptist Church in Youngstown was the setting May 21 when Roy and Margaret (Jemison) Simmons of Youngstown renewed their wedding vows for their 50th wedding anniversary.
A reception followed at St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church in Liberty, hosted by their children and grandchildren.
The couple were married May 20, 1961, at the Youngstown home of Mrs. Simmons’ parents, Will and Elizabeth Jemison.
Mrs. Simmons retired in 1996 from American Welding Mfg. of Warren, and is a member of AARP.
Mr. Simmons retired in 2002 from WRTA, where he was a bus driver.
The couple are members of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Their family includes three daughters, Sheryl Blackmon and Sonya Thompson, both of Columbus, and Denise Simmons of Youngstown; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
