Petrellas mark 60th anniversary in Birch Hill cabin

YOUNGSTOWN

Family and close friends gathered July 23 at Mill Creek Park’s Birch Hill cabin for the 60th wedding anniversary celebration for Dominic J. and Irene Petrella of Youngstown.

The event was hosted by the couple’s children, John Petrella and Scott Bishop of Hilo, Hawaii; Nancy and Dave Abbott of Craig, Alaska; Julie and Chuck Hoskins of Youngstown; Dominic Petrella of Daytona Beach, Fla.; Anna Marie Petrella and Lynn Minnick of Youngstown; and James and Kelly Petrella of Tacoma, Wash.

Entertainment was provided by Julian Cicatiello.

The Petrellas were married July 21, 1951, at St. Anthony Church, Youngstown.

Mr. Petrella is retired from U.S. Steel, and is a World War II veteran;

Mrs. Petrella is a retired licensed practical nurse.

The couple have nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, with a second expected in November to grandchildren Katie and Dave Frank of Akron.
