Hammond children host luncheon for parents’ 60th

AUSTINTOWN

Joseph and Eileen Hammond of Austintown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a luncheon July 16 hosted by their children at Barry Dyngles.

Mr. Hammond and the former Eileen Griesser were married July 14, 1951, at St. Patrick Church on Oak Hill Avenue, Youngstown.

Mrs. Hammond is a homemaker, and Mr. Hammond retired in 1969 from Isaly’s where he was a bottle operator. He then worked in fire safety for General Motors in Lordstown, retiring in 1982. He is a World War II Army veteran.

The couple are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and have four daughters, Jacqueline (Bruce) McMillan, Anna Hammond and Eileen (Jeffrey) Mitchell, all of Austintown, and the late Charlene (Dave) Davis; two sons, John (Toni) Hammond of Youngstown, and the late Joseph (Mary Sue) Hammond Jr. Eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren complete their family.
