Corn harvest fest in Volant on Saturday

VOLANT, PA.

Volant Merchants Association will sponsor a corn harvest festival beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday in the village on Pa. Route 208, east of New Wilmington, Pa.

There will be free hayrides, a display of antique tractors and an old-fashioned corn roast at Summer Kitchen. Fresh peaches and corn also will be available for purchase.

Scooter’s Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop will have an ice cream social, and Miss Scarlett’s Gift Parlor will feature gourmet apples. Amish donuts and baked goods will be available for purchase, and at Volant Mill, visitors can have their photo taken in period costume.

Shops will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking and admission are free.
