Police are looking for potential witnesses and information about a double homicide on the city’s North Side.
“Nothing real good so far,” police Capt. Rod Foley, chief of the detective division, said late Sunday about leads in the murder investigation.
“It’s kind of sketchy. We really don’t have an idea of what happened.”
Two Youngstown men — Oscar Teague of Wirt Street, 56, and Jasmon Reeder of Superior Street, 19 — were murdered early Saturday morning in Teague’s home.
Police have received calls about the case, “but nothing seems to be directing us in the right direction,” Foley said.
Police are asking those with information about the murders to call, anonymously if they choose, 330-746-CLUE (2583).
Police responded at 3:45 a.m. to Teague’s home after getting a call about gunfire coming from that house and a red sport-utility vehicle leaving the driveway. The front door was open when police arrived.
The two were found in the living room with Reeder on his side on top of Teague’s legs, and Teague face up, according to a police report.
Reeder, shot in the head, died at the house.
Teague, shot in the back, had a pulse when emergency medical personnel came to the house. Teague was taken to the St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he died.
Police were unable to find any witnesses at the scene of the shootings, the report states.
Teague and Reeder are the 10th and 11th homicide victims this year in Youngstown.
