Chamber to honor 3 at Sept. 1 event
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is accepting reservations for its Salute to Business event from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Sept. 1.
The event, which will take place at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave., will feature keynote speaker U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, of Niles, D-17th.
It will honor Warren Anderson, president of Anderson-Dubose Co., who recently finalized plans to build a new $30 million, 155,000-square-foot facility in Lordstown; Don French, who recently retired after 30 years as executive director of the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation; and Gordon Wean, chairman of the board of The Raymond John Wean Foundation.
Eric Wolford, coach of the Youngstown State University football team, will preview the upcoming season.
Tickets are $25 for chamber members and $35 for nonmembers.
Registration is required by Aug. 26.

YWCA to host free credit workshop
YOUNGSTOWN
The YWCA of Youngstown, in partnership with Apprisen Financial Advocates, will host a free credit-counseling workshop for women from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave.
Workshop topics include the importance of managing credit, how to receive a free credit report, the causes of a poor credit score and what a person can do to improve a credit score.

Sephora to open at Southern Park Mall

Beauty store Sephora will open a location inside the J.C. Penney Co. store at Southern Park Mall on Friday.
The 1,500-square-foot Sephora, which can be found in the center of J.C. Penney, has more than 50 brands of makeup, skin care and fragrance products.
The first 450 customers who attend the grand opening will receive a free, sample-loaded giveaway bag.
J.C. Penney is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Liberty Tax Service will boost hiring

Liberty Tax Service, 90 Boardman-Poland Road, is ramping up hiring for tax season and providing tax school for those interested in positions.
The classes, which begin Sept. 13, will take place at a to-be-determined time Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Liberty Tax says tax- school graduates are prime candidates for seasonal tax jobs.
