FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will sell homemade dinners from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The takeout meals consist of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans. The cost is $6. Drive to the front of the church and pick up a dinner. No need to preorder or get out of the car.

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, is serving homemade Chinese lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays. This week’s menu will feature soy sauce pork loin or oriental salad. The cost of the meal is $6. No reservations are necessary.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a takeout chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. Meals consist of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans and a brownie. The cost is $7. Drive through and pick up a dinner.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

VFW Post 9571,11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Also available will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $7 for seniors.

SATURDAY

Brookdale Senior Living’s Clare Bridge Center will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 7 to 12; meals are free for those 6 and under. Carryouts will be available. Tickets can be purchased at Clare Bridge, 1420 S. Canfield-Niles Road. They also will be available at the door. For more information, call 330-270-1448.

SUNDAY

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Ladies Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve homestyle breakfasts from 8 a.m. to noon. The price is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea.

Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, Pa., will serve a fundraiser buffet dinner for the church beginning at 12:30 p.m. The buffet consists of stuffed chicken breasts and pork chops, Salisbury steak, Swedish meatballs, potatoes, salad, vegetable, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.

UPCOMING

Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will have a drive-through dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out Aug. 10. Place your order on the north side of the church and pick it up on the south side. Meals consist of stuffed chicken breast with gravy, baked potato with sour cream, green beans and a brownie for $6.
