Sarah Turner taking shot at ‘Voice’

AUSTINTOWN

Boardman-based country singer Sarah Turner will perform Aug. 12 at Club Gossip.

The all-ages show in the Wedgewood Plaza nightclub starts at 6 p.m. and also will include the Santa Fe Band and a DJ.

Tickets are $10 ($15 for VIP area) and are available in advance at Club Gossip and Shotz Bar in Austintown and Rick’s Ranchwear in Boardman, and online at shopsarahturner.com. Fans can register at Rick’s Ranchwear for a free limo ride to and from the show, sponsored by 5 Star Limousine.

Turner also will audition for season 2 of NBC’s hit singing competition show “The Voice.”

Auditions are open to the public and are taking place in eight cities.

“The Voice” is hosted by Carson Daly and features superstar coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Season 2 premieres Feb. 5. Season 1 ended June 29 with Javier Colon crowned the winner.

Turner also is working on securing a recording contract, according to her manager, George Saadi.

“Youngstown,” the first single from Turner, achieved airplay on 100 radio stations across the country, and the accompanying video has been viewed more than 70,000 times online.

“I’ve got my fingers crossed that I’ll do well at the audition,” said Turner, “and I hope to make Youngstown proud!”
