YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating two home invasions and robberies over the past weekend.

Police responded to an alarm in the 200 block of Crandall just before 4 a.m. Friday and were met by a resident who told police he had just been robbed at gunpoint in his home by three black males.

The homeowner said he was sitting in his living room watching TV when he heard a noise and saw the three armed men coming at him from the kitchen area of the house.

One of the men reportedly fired three shots and ordered the resident to the floor.

The men ransacked the house taking a wallet, keys and cell phone.

The intruders ran off after accidently tripping the alarm that ultimately alerted police.

A 31-year-old Bennington Avenue man told police he was home preparing to take his medication just before 10 a.m. Sunday when an armed black male came into his home through an open front door and demanded the medication.

The man said he handed over the medicine, and the man ran off.
