A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

July 15

Drug abuse: Kenneth Huber, 33, of 1455 Wilson Ave., Atwater, was arrested for drug abuse for possession of 2 grams of marijuana and a pipe bowl with marijuana residue in it.

July 27

Drug abuse: Donald Auman, 25, of 3947 Riley Ave., Struthers, was arrested on a charge of drug abuse for possession of 2 grams of marijuana. Also arrested on the same charge for possession of the same bag was Joseph Claycomb, 20, of 14 S. Pearl Road., Youngstown.

Telephone harassment: A resident of the 300 block of Overbrook Drive reported receiving a “significant” number of text messages from an acquaintance he no longer wanted contact with.

July 30

Warrant: DeeAnn Green, 49, of 909 Lincoln Ave., Niles was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge, which was confirmed by Massillon police, who picked up the suspect.

AUSTINTOWN

July 25

Drug offense: Freda Boff, (alias Freda Conner), 46, of 2492 Frostwood Drive was arrested for criminal trespassing and a drug offense, possession of drug paraphernalia at the Econo Lodge, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive.

Trespassing: Lori Yerracus, 49, homeless was issued a summons for trespassing at the Westgate Motel, 4493 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Three catalytic converters were stolen at Blue Ribbon Motors, 4004 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A 1970 International backhoe was stolen from a vacant lot in the 800 block of Ohltown Road.

Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged at a home in the 6000 block of Fairview Road.

Breaking and entering: Catalytic convertors were stolen from seven vehicles at Patrick’s Service, 58 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: A neighbor was caught stealing cable from a nearby home in the 2000 block of S. Main St. A cable company representative confirmed that an illegal hook-up had been made to the house of the subscriber for cable reception.

Warrant: Brandon Blanchard, 24, of 4481 Deer Creek Court, No. 2 was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a drug paraphernalia charge.

Warrant: William Milano, III, 41, of 4461 South Ave., Boardman was arrested on a warrant for telecommunications harassment.

Theft: A men’s wallet was stolen while the driver slept at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

July 26

Theft: A radar detector as taken from an unlocked vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Quill Court.

Warrant: Marc Chicase, listed as approximately 40, address unknown, was arrested on a warrant for theft.

Menacing: A man was sending messages to a cell phone and making threats at a home in the 300 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Catalytic converters were stolen from three separate vehicles at Austintown Pawn, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Items were stolen and recovered from an auto at a home in the 500 block of Oakcrest Avenue.

Felonious assault: A suspect attempted to strike a person with a vehicle at Norquest Blvd. and Fitch Blvd.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman reported receiving hang-up calls for several months at an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West.

Attempted robbery: Anthony R. Strickland, 43, of 1539 Republic Ave., Youngstown was arrested for attempted robbery at Certified Oil, 825 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Barking dog: Scott Rhoades, 39, of 3651 S. Wendover Ave. was issued a summons for a barking dog.

July 27

Telecommunications harassment: An unknown subject from California was making harassing phone calls to a home in the 60 block of N. Anderson Ave.

Theft: A cell phone was stolen at O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Cash and credit were stolen from Austintown Junior Soccer League,805 Ohltown Road.

July 28

Criminal trespassing:Joshua Kleinhans, 32, of 223 W. Water St., Apt. 1, Oak Harbor, was arrested for criminal trespassing at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Attempted breaking and entering: No entry was gained in an attempted breaking and entering at an unattached garage at a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Drive.

Warrant: Howard McCreary, 43, of 254 S.Main St., was arrested on a warrant for unlawful use of a telecommunications device.

Burglary: A one-year-old King Corso (AKC registered) dog valued at $2,500 was taken from a home in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane and later found tied to the front of the dog warden’s office.

Aggravated burglary: Two male suspects pried open a security door, assaulted the resident while fleeing at a home in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.

Theft: A Visa debit card was stolen at the BP gas station, 5502 Mahoning Ave.

July 29

Disorderly conduct: Steve Mathews,39, of 1358 Cedarwood Drive, Mineral Ridge was charged with disorderly conduct in the 5000 block of Clarkins Drive.

Fraud: A suspect is accused of fraud at a home in the 1000 block of Niles-Canfield Road.

Drug offense: Justin Popp,1 8, of 13457 42nd Street was arrested on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and littering.

Criminal trespassing: Evona Foor, 46, of 7 Hill St., Richmond, W.Va. was arrested for criminal trespassing at the Econo Lodge, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive.

Burglary: Garages were broken into but nothing was missing at two homes in the 4000 block of Rita Ave.

July 30

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto at 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Felonious assault: A woman rammed a male’s vehicle with her vehicle in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Attempted burglary: A door and frame were damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Rita Ave.

Drug offense: Sean Pallante, 21, of 52 Jade Circle, Canfield was issued a summons on charges of drug abuse and marijuana possession.

Burglary: A handgun was stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Disorderly conduct: Dearris Howell, 21, of 348 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown and Tarell Etheridge, 21, of 557 E. Avondale, Youngstown were both charged with disorderly conduct at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Frank Rivera,J r., 27, of 5634 DePaw Ave. was arrested for possession of heroin, drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia at the Ice House, 5516 W. Webb Road.
