Autopsy results expected Tuesday on NH girl

STEWARTSTOWN, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire law enforcement official says the results of an autopsy on the body of an 11-year-old girl are expected soon.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young says the results of Celina Cass’ autopsy would be released late this afternoon or early this evening in Concord.

Meanwhile, the girl’s hometown is expected to move forward with its annual children’s festival called Stewartstown Days. It’s scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Stewartstown residents had considered canceling it. Instead, they’re dedicating it to the memory of Celina.

Celina’s body was recovered from the Connecticut River on Monday about a week after the fifth-grader disappeared. It was found about a quarter-mile from her home near the Canadian and Vermont borders.

Authorities are describing her death as suspicious.
