16U NABF WORLD SERIES
Ohio Glaciers 3, Bloomington 1
The Ohio Glaciers team won the National Amatuer Baseball Federation World Series with a victory over Bloomington, Ill. Jacob Froats and Chris Maze pitched the win. Tyler Spain hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning. In the tournament, Bloomington beat the Glaciers 2-1 (eight innings), then the Glaciers defeated Houston, 9-8 (eight innings). The Glaciers also beat Northville, Mich., 13-5, and Troy, 8-6. In the semifinal, the Glaciers beat Toronto, 4-1. Derek Turocy was named tournament MVP and Mike Raschilla and Chris Maze were named to the all-tournament team. On the team are Spain (Howland), Harry Finelli (Ursuline), Mike Raschilla (McDonald), Sean Coyne (New Castle), Froats (Howland), Ryan McKeown (Boardman), Ian Simmons (Boardman), Kurt Kuzmaul (Howland), Chris Maze (Howland), Turocy (Canfield), Austin Downie (Boardman), Mike Witte (Boardman), Santana Barrera (Southeast), Colton Crissman (Canfield) and Mike Kindinis (Canfield).
LITTLE LEAGUE STATE
Boardman 8, Guernsey 6
The Boardman 11-year-old All Star team advanced to the third round of the Little League State Tournament in Hamilton with a victory over Guernsey. Tonight at 8:15, Boardman will play West Side Hamilton. Players are Sean Buck, Noah Falleti, Michael Melewski, Dominic Stilliana, Dominic Pecchia, Bobby Toth, Michael Cunningham, Bryan Kordupel, Evan Knaus, Luciano Cardillo, Dante Beato and Jarod Wilson.
PALOMINO EAST
Sam Pitzulo Home of the Class B League ended its season by being eliminated at the Palomino East Zone Tournament. Sam Pitzulo Homes was the first Class B team to win a Palomino regional tournament. Pitzulo players making the all-tournament team are Ryan Halicki, Kris Karr, Tom Pulice, Joe Diloreto, Mike Watson, Cody Kirk, Tod Gasior, Josh Gore, Dylan Sargeous, Jon Taylor and Anthony Clinkscale.

PI&I Express 8, Mahoning Valley Knights 6
Express won to advance to play Sunrise Inn in the best-of-five championship series. Dave Patrick homered, Tom Jones hit a two-run double and Scott McDermott contributed a RBI single. Cory Hitt also drove in two runs. Shawn Pelo hit a two-run double for the Knights who were swept 2-0 in the series.
Sunrise Inn 10, Cardinals 2
Zac Byler’s three-run double was the big hit in Sunrise’s six-run third inning. Jake Abbott hit a two-run double and Cliff Panezich had a RBI double.

The Titans scored all their runs in the fourth inning. Rob Tamburro and Wade Daniels each had two hits for the Bombers.
Pittsburgh 7, Yanek 0
Steve Long homered and had three RBIs as Pittsburgh scored five runs in the second inning. Kyle Magill singled twice for Yanek.
Berea 8, Bombers 4
Berea banged out 13 hits and took an 8-0 lead. Ray Jaminet and Step Hermann led the Bombers, each with two singles.

Canfield 10, Englewood 0
Canfield 3, Perry 1
Canfield Baseball Club’s 9-10 softball team won its first two games of the state tournament to advance to the state semifinals in the winner’s bracket in Portsmouth. On Saturday, Canfield defeated Englewood in four innings. On Sunday, Canfield defeated Perry as Jill Baker, Alana Marzich and Taylor Lampe combined to pitch a no hitter. Mallory Vaclav, Lampe, Madison Terlizzi and Marzich provided key hits. Other team members are: Emerson Fletcher, McKenna Carey, Amberly Rose, Mary Gomez and Serena Sammarone. Today at 1 p.m., Canfield plays Elyria
