Poland Cub Scout Pack 44 wants to find local boys who are up to the Cub Scout Challenge.

Each year, the Cub Scouts invite boys from Poland and surrounding communities to join them for an evening of fun-filled activities and to learn about the benefits of scouting.

Last year’s recruitment event was centered around safety, and scouts and future scouts in attendance talked safety with the Poland Village and Poland Township Police, and the Poland Fire Department. The boys witnessed the STAT MedEvac helicopter land and take off, as part of a coordinated drill with the fire department.

This year’s recruitment night is May 16 and the activities are based on the popular CBS series “Survivor.” Boys who will enter first through fifth grades next fall can join Pack 44 at Bethel Friends Church that day from 5:30-7 p.m. to take part in an evening of fun team-building activities. Each challenge is designed to show skills the boys will learn in scouting.

In local schools, Pack 44 scouts will be wearing Cub Scout Challenge T-shirts. Interested boys are free to ask these scouts for more information on recruitment night and about their experiences in Cub Scouts.
