The Boardman Performing Arts Center will be the site for a once in a lifetime night of Broadway May 7 at 7:30 p.m. More than 50 Boardman alumni will perform songs from your favorite musicals, alongside current elementary, middle and high school students.
Led by Mark Huberman, a committee of community leaders and alumni has been working to plan an event to showcase the school’s rich 46-year tradition of musicals.
“The Boardman schools have turned out so many successful alumni, why not bring them back together for one fabulous reunion performance?” said Huberman.
Among the 50 Boardman alums committed to perform are Rande Stefanski ’69 (Lil’ Abner), Christopher Fidram ’85 (Fiddler on the Roof), Ryan Saul ‘89 (Hello Dolly), Broadway star John Scacchetti ‘98 (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown), Gina Dowell ‘00 (Guys and Dolls), Michael Mraz ‘02 (West Side Story), Ashley Senary ‘03 (Hello Dolly), Trevor Coleman ‘06 (Beauty and the Beast), Alyssa DiBernardi ’08 (Grease), Lauren Gronvall ’08 (Once Upon a Mattress), Sarah Turner ’10 (Peter Pan), Tim Welsh ‘10 (Chicago) and many more.
The alumni performers will share the stage with current students from all the Boardman schools.
Money raised from ticket sales will go toward the purchase of a new sound system for the performing arts hall. Tax-deductible contributions to the event can be made payable to the “Boardman Local Schools – BPAC” and be sent to 7410 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
Visit www.celebratebpac.org for information or to make an online donation. Tickets cost $15 or $25 and can be purchased online or at the door the night of the event.
