Police find drugs, cash at house

Officers responded to a burglary on Arlene Avenue Thursday afternoon and discovered scales, packing materials, drugs and thousands of dollars in cash in the house.

“We had been getting complaints about short-term visitors and people pulling in and out at that house,” said Police Chief Jack Nichols.

As police officers searched the empty house, the owner returned and denied police permission to continue the search, Nichols said.

A search warrant was expected to be issued late Thursday. No further information was available at press time.
