Coroner probing 2 dead in mobile home fire
DUNCANSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Police and a coroner are investigating two deaths at a central Pennsylvania mobile home where witnesses reported an explosion, fire and gunshots — though authorities say that might have been the sound of ammunition being set off by the flames.
Blair County Coroner Patricia Ross had yet to release the names of the dead today, but neighbors of the victims in Allegheny Township, near Duncansville, say they were a retired couple who used to work as corrections officers at the county prison.
A witness tells the Altoona Mirror he heard the explosion then found the man who lived in the home sprawled on a door that was off its hinges and laying on the back porch while the house burned. Authorities later found the badly burned body of a woman inside.
