Woman in 20s found dead in bedroom fire

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — The Erie County Coroner’s Office says a woman in her 20s has been found dead in a fire that tore through her bedroom.

The coroner hasn’t released the name of the victim found after the fire, which was reported about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Erie Chief Fire Inspector Guy Santone says there was no immediate indication the fire was suspicious, but investigators have continued to search for the fire’s causes.

A deputy coroner said that the victim was found lying on a bed and badly burned. Authorities believe she lived alone in the home.

The fire damage was contained to the bedroom and no other injuries have been reported.
