Fire damages group home in Boardman
Staff Report
BOARDMAN
Firefighters had to call for assistance from the Western Reserve Joint Fire District to help them battle a blaze Tuesday night at a Prestwick Drive group home.
Two clients and a supervisor were at the home for developmentally disabled residents at 75 Prestwick just after 9 p.m.
They had gotten out of the home before firefighters arrived.
No one was injured.
The supervisor told firefighters that one of the clients had set her bed on fire.
All eight of the township firefighters on duty were on the scene, but called the fire department from Poland to help knock down the fire.
No damage estimate was available late Tuesday night.
