Wrestling show at expo center

PWO (Pro Wrestling Ohio) will come to Eastwood Expo Center, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, at 6 p.m. May 7.

Tickets are $15 and $10 at PWOwrestling.com or at Wing Warehouse in Niles, next to the Expo Center. Tickets will also be available at the door. The event will be taped and later aired on Sports Time Ohio.

Scheduled to appear is Niles native Bobby Beverly. Born Bobby Smith, he graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 2004 where he was a two-time letter winner in both football and baseball. Also set to appear is Matt Cross, who appeared as a cast member on the USA Network’s reality show “Tough Enough.”

Literary magazine to unveil next issue

YOUNGSTOWN

The spring issue of Jenny, Youngstown State University’s online literary magazine, will be unveiled at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St.

The event will benefit YSU’s Student Literary Arts Association, which produces Jenny, and will feature music by Chris Splain, readings of poetry and prose, a book signing with author and YSU faculty member Rebecca Barnhouse, and a video presentation of Jenny’s collaboration with SMARTS.

Rural Life museum to open for season

mercer, pa.

Rural Life Museum of the Mercer County Historical Society will open for the season Sunday with hours from 1 to 5 p.m. The museum, located behind Avalon Springs about a mile north of Mercer borough on Route 58, will be open through October.

Admission is free.
