City police seek man who followed women, shot man

Police are looking for the man who shot a 23-year-old city man, after the latter confronted another about following two young women.

Police said the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Monday on Quinn Street.

Reports state that a 24-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman called their male friend because a man was following them on foot from Six Brothers convenience store.

Their friend, a 23-year-old male, met the women at their home and then went up Quinn Street near Garland Avenue to see if the man was still standing there, according to reports.

Police said he saw the man and asked why he was following the women, and the man did not answer, but instead pulled out a handgun and shot the 23-year-old man in upper left calf.

The suspect was described as a black male about 5 foot, 7 inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds, possibly in his mid-30s.

He was wearing a dark, hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans and was standing behind the store before following the women, according to reports.

Police said the wound was not life-threatening.
