Western Pa. counties cleaning up wind damage

TEMPLETON, Pa. (AP) — Some western Pennsylvania counties are cleaning up from storms that produced high winds but no tornadoes, despite warnings that funnel storms could occur.

Most of the damage reported is in the west central counties of Armstrong, Clarion and Jefferson, all at least 40 miles north to northeast of Pittsburgh.

The storms blew through those areas about 3 p.m. Monday, toppling sheds, damaging roofs, and toppling trees and power lines.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning based upon rotation that radar detected in the storm, but now says no funnel clouds touched down.
