Police: Convicted bank robber wanted in more cases

READING, Pa. (AP) — Police say a convicted bank robber who walked away from a Pennsylvania halfway house over the weekend has robbed at least two banks.

Authorities say 32-year-old Maurice Emile has robbed two Reading banks since walking away from a Berks County halfway house on Saturday.

Investigators say on Saturday Emile robbed the same bank he was convicted of robbing in 2004. Police say he robbed a second Reading bank on Monday afternoon.

Emile is also suspected of robbing an Allentown bank earlier Monday.

Authorities say Emile left the Wernersville Community Corrections Center to buy groceries on Saturday and never returned. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
