Kate Middleton — not that one — in royal mix-up

CONCORD, Mass. (AP) — A Boston woman who shares the same name as the woman who is about to marry Prince William has joined dozens of other women who are in a royal mix-up.

Kate Middleton, a Boston bicycle enthusiast, says she was recently booted off Facebook and accused of running a fake account. But the 32-year-old says Kate Middleton is her name and convinced Facebook to re-instate her account.

The mix-up sparked a flood of reporters to the Concord bicycle shop where the American Kate Middleton works. Middleton says she has steadfastly refused reporters’ requests that she speak with a British accent.

Middleton says she’s using the media hoopla to draw attention to her participation in a July bike tour from Boston to Provincetown to raise money for multiple sclerosis.
