Canfield baseball beats Howland 12-1

The Canfield Cardinals won just twice in five outings during their recent southern trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Coach Matt Koenig called the trip exactly what his team needed in order to prepare for the remainder of their northern season.

Brad Smith scattered four hits and fanned seven while Canfield used a seven-run third inning to put the game away as the Cardinals stopped the Tigers, 12-1 in five innings Tuesday in All-American Conference, Red Tier action at Bob Cene Park.
