The city school board will meet in caucus at 5:30 p.m. today followed by a regular meeting at 6:30. Both meetings will be in the I.L. Ward Building, 20 W. Wood St.

Forged prescription

AUSTINTOWN

A Berlin Center man was arrested after attempting to fill a forged prescription at a local drugstore, police said.

Mark Sudano, 49, of Hoyle Road, is charged with illegal possession of drug documents and permitting drug abuse after he tried to fill a false prescription Saturday at Walgreens Pharmacy on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown, according to a police report.

Employees told police Sudano dropped off a prescription about 4:45 p.m. for 240 painkillers. They contacted the doctor whose name was on the prescription, and he told the Walgreens employee Sudano hadn’t been in to his office in five years, the report said.

No suspects yet

BOARDMAN

Police said they don’t have any suspects in the theft of more than 30 “Yes for Poland Schools” levy signs.

A Springfield Township police officer found the signs Friday in front of Springfield High School in New Middletown and returned them to Boardman police.

Police said the signs were taken from lawns in the area of Tara Drive, Meadow Lane and Lemont Drive late Thursday. The signs were returned to the Citizens Committee for the Poland Schools Levy.

Facing theft charge

A 29-year-old Columbiana man will be arraigned this morning after being accused of stealing more than $2,000 from his employer, Donnell Ford on Market Street. Kenneth B. Oberholtzer was arrested on a felony-theft charge Friday morning, according to reports. Police said a Donnell Ford employee reported $2,250 missing from a deposit bag.
