Austintown/Canfield man sentenced for smuggling attempt at prison

A 52-year-old man with addresses in Austintown and Canfield who worked as a contract-labor therapist at Trumbull Correctional Institute has been sentenced to one year in prison for trying to smuggle crack cocaine to prisoners.

Christopher G. Ellis Sr. of Idlewood Drive, Austintown, and Berry Blossom Drive, Canfield, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to one count of cocaine possession and one count of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto a detention facility.
