SENIOR SIDELIGHTS


Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will sponsor the following; Monday, bridge at 10 a.m., arthritis exercise program at 11, therapy and quilting at 1 p.m., and cards, sandwich and salad and Weight Loss Support Group at 4; Tuesday, square dancing at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30, cards at 1 p.m., pinochle at 2:30 and square dancing at 7:30; Wednesday, chair yoga at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30, bingo and Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. and cards at 2:30; Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30, pinochle, bridge and game day at 1 p.m. and clean people at 6; Friday, art class at 10 a.m., arthritis exercise at 11, therapy and “Must Go Friday” lunch at 11:30 and choir practice at 1 p.m. Line dancing will be at 11:45 a.m. each Tuesday for six weeks. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club at 8:30 a.m. and gentle chair yoga and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, bridge for beginners at 11, exercises at noon and Digital Club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tap class at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; and Thursday, Watch Our Weight and Woodcarvers at 9 a.m., exercises at noon, line dancing at 1 p.m. and beginner line dancing at 2. Special events include: Boardman Fun Day 10 a.m. Monday and Thursday; Austintown Fun Day 10 a.m. Wednesday; and Hartville Kitchen/flea market trip at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Art entries must be submitted by Wednesday and will be judged Thursday. The artists party will be 1 p.m. May 4.
