Bailey Shade tossed her second career no-hitter, striking out 14. Shade also singled twice and scored a run, while Makayla Crouser had two hits, including a double, for Newton Falls (3-5).

Boardman

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Boardman went 5-0 and outscored opponents 31-3 during its spring trip. Brooke Meenachan had 11 hits for the Spartans during the week, and Alex DiDomenico went 5-0 on the mound, allowing eight hits and one run. She struck out 51 batters. Boardman defeated teams from Virginia, 6-0; South Carolina 9-2; West Virginia 9-0; South Carolina 3-0, and New Jersey 4-1. Other hitters for Boardman: Alex Defabio with a triple, Dani Petrus with two hits and two RBIs, DiDomenico with six hits, Kayleigh Huck with four hits, Missy DeMarinas with two hits, Megan Jones with a double, and Julie Sokol with two RBIs and a triple. Boardman also defeated Bartlett, Ill., 3-2, at Ashland. Bethany Haddle had two doubles and drove in the game-winning run in the seventh. Huck, Sokol and Caitlyn Andrews also hit doubles, and DiDomenico struck out 16.

Massillon Jackson 6, Fitch 5

MASSILLON

Megan Carney had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI for Fitch (5-3, 1-2 Federal League) which gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose. Brianna Banko added two hits and two RBIs and Carly Ortz doubled and drove in a run. Jackson is 6-5.

Akron Ellet 7, South Range 5

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Stevie Taylor had two singles and a home run and Madison Yanek also homered for South Range, which out-hit Ellet, 8-6. Taylor and Kristin Robinson finished with two hits apiece for the Raiders (14-3). Taylor Charles (10-1) struck out seven for Ellet (10-1).

Lordstown 9, Grand Valley 1

LORDSTOWN

Winning pitcher Briana Sinn (5-1) struck out 11 batters and walked three. Sami Heverly homered while Melody Taylor doubled for the Red Devils (6-1, 4-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Sinn, Heather Darocha, Daisy Free and Tori Heverly each had two hits.

STRUTHERS

Derek Pasquale hit two doubles and drove in five runs for the Spartans (7-2, 4-1 Federal League). Danny Popio had four hits including a double. Also with doubles were Mark Calautti and Joey Markovitch. For the Vikings, Eric LaPage tripled and Dan Iero had two doubles.

Brookfield 11,

Youngstown Christian 0

STRUTHERS

Anthony Weilbruda and Jimmy Quinlan combined on a five-inning no-hitter for Brookfield. They both struck out five, and allowed just three base runners, all by walks. Collin Harkulich and David Jamieson scored two runs apiece for the Warriors (3-3), who stole 15 bases. Cameron Derr had four steals.

Liberty 8, Columbiana 5

COLUMBIANA

The Clippers (11-4) took a 5-0 lead after four innings before the Leopards (5-4) rallied. Kyle Shaffer homered for Columbiana while Jared Wiesen doubled twice for Liberty.

Jackson-Milton 10, Badger 7

NORTH JACKSON

A four-run third inning put Jackson-Milton on top, 8-2. Jeremy Fitzpatrick (1-1) got the win for Jackson-Milton (2-5). The Braves are 1-6.
