With a sweet twist on a tribute to the recent spring weather, Angels for Animals held its April Showers of Pancakes Breakfast April 9. The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast raised money for new beds for cats and dogs and for new outside dog kennels.

According to Diane Less, developmental director for Angels for Animals. the staff at the animal shelter chose the project that the proceeds would go toward.

“The breakfast is put on by our paid staff who get to choose where the money goes within the shelter. They know where the money is needed the most,” Less said.

Numerous Angels for Animals volunteers were also on hand to help with the breakfast, from collecting money at the door to cooking in the kitchen to helping to serve the breakfast, which included pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, coffee, orange juice and milk. Belgian waffles were also available.

Angels for Animals will host its 17th annual Gigantic Garage Sale April 29-30 and May 1 at the Canfield Fairgrounds. Donations will be accepted April 25-27 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds. For more information, visit www.angelsforanimals.org.

“We have added 3,500 square feet to this year’s sale so we are very excited about that,” Less said.
