Judge sentences Youngstown man to eight years in prison on assault, burglary charges

YOUNGSTOWN — Julius Crawford, 20, who listed an address on Plazaview Court, was sentenced to a total of eight years in prison on charges of aggravated burglary and felonious assault.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today sentenced Crawford to four years in prison on the burglary charge, four years on the assault charge, and ruled the sentences were to be served consecutively.

Crawford pleaded guilty to the charges in February.

The charges stem from a severe beating Crawford inflicted upon his former girlfriend in November 2010.

Crawford is one of the survivors of an arson that killed six members of his family in January 2008.
