McDonald board to review contract

McDONALD

The state Finance and Planning Commission has asked the board of education to consider whether the district can function with a superintendent working only 80 days a year.

Commission chairman Roger Nehls told the board the commission wants the school board to take a closer look at an 80-day work schedule for the part-time superintendent, Barry Morrison.

His one-year contract expires July 31, and the board last week approved paying him a $20-a-day stipend from April 4 through the end of his contract because he has already worked all of his 80 days.

Morrison had volunteered to work for free. Nehls told the board to develop an idea or philosophy of how it wants the superintendent to work in the district.
