Antique machinery

NORTH GEORGETOWN

Knox Antique Auto, Engine and Tractor Association will have its 21st annual antique machinery show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29 and 30 at North Georgetown Firehall, six miles west of Salem on Columbiana County Road 400 (Georgetown Road), behind the historic Stagecoach Inn.

A free car and truck show, sponsored by Cub Scout Troops 52 and 53, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 29, rain or shine, on the blacktop parking lot.

Dash plaques will be given out, not registration or admission fees, and the public is welcome. Food will be available on site.

‘Oklahoma!’ to open

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical “Oklahoma!” will open next week at New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave. Director is Brent Rodgers.

The musical will run for nine performances including April 29, 30, May, 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Opening night will feature a complimentary wine and cheese party for all ticket holders beginning at 6 p.m. in the Annex Theatre. Members of NCP Mini-Stars will be performing various vocal selections.

For reservations, call the box office at 724-654-3437. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens age 60 and older and students, and $10 for children age 12 and under. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more.

In celebration of the chapter’s 37th year, Portage County Chapter 600 Parents Without Partners members has planned a “Birthday Party” dance theme from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. May 7 at Kent VFW Post 3703, 500 VFW Parkway. Music will be by DJ Mel.
