Cleveland man sentenced for fatally shooting 2
CLEVELAND (AP) — A Cleveland man has been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her stepson outside a manufacturing plant.
The Plain Dealer newspaper reports 44-year-old Pedro Rodriguez pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated murder and a weapons charge on Tuesday and was immediately sentenced. A bailiff says Rodriguez would be eligible for parole after 33 years.
Authorities alleged Rodriguez gunned down 49-year-old Graciela Morales and 49-year-old Eduardo Pupo on Oct. 22 at ParkOhio Products Inc. The company makes molded parts for industries and consumers.
The newspaper says Rodriguez was accused of shooting Morales in a parked SUV, using her employee badge to enter the building and then shooting Pupo.
A public defender who represented Rodriguez said he had no comment today.
