HUBBARD

Detective Sgt. James Taafe said Daniel Hartman, 25, of Mine Street, Stoneboro, Pa., and Antonio Hawthorne, 41, of Bennington Avenue, Youngstown, are in Trumbull County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property and traffic violations. The arraignment was Monday.

The behavior of Hartman and Hawthorne in a 1998 Dodge Neon attracted the attention of police on patrol at 9 a.m. Monday. Police discovered from Youngstown Police Department that the car had been stolen Sunday morning from the 1400 block of Byron Street in Youngstown.

Police initiated a traffic stop, but Hartman fled west on West Liberty then into Liberty on Logan Way then to Warner Road in Brookfield, where the car crashed. Hartman and Hawthorne fled on foot but were apprehended.

Taafe said police departments from Hubbard Township, Liberty, Vienna and Brookfield assisted.
