Man faces 20 charges

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Robert A. Bogdan, a 21-year-old New Castle man, is facing 20 charges, including two for felony aggravated assault after his arrest in Union Township.

According to police, Bodgan and a second suspect entered the home of a Smithfield Street couple early Saturday morning. One suspect reportedly struck the 47-year-old man in the head with a handgun, and the other did the same to the 34-year-old woman.

The suspects then damaged several items in the home, including a computer, before taking cellphones, a lock box, two rifles and a handgun. The victims were treated at Jameson Hospital.

A preliminary hearing for Bogdan is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Three children in the home were unharmed. An investigation is ongoing.
