Grandmother charged after 3-year-old boy found wandering

BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia grandmother is facing endangerment charges after a passing motorist found her 3-year-old grandson wandering down a road.

Bensalem police say 48-year-old Lisa McLawhorn was highly intoxicated when they arrested her Monday.

Investigators say McLawhorn told officers she had been watching the boy and her 9-month-old granddaughter when the boy went to watch TV.

Officers say a motorist soon saw the boy and alerted police, who said McLawhorn didn’t know the boy was missing until officers arrived at her door.

Police say McLawhorn had a blood-alcohol level of 0.135 at the time of her arrest. She is in jail on $50,000 bail.
