Two men charged in Galaxy Seafood robbery arraigned today

YOUNGSTOWN — Two men charged in the April 8 robbery of the Galaxy Seafood business on Belmont Avenue that resulted in the death of a would-be robber are in Mahoning County jail on a combined $1.5 million bond.

Nathaniel Dumas, 35, is charged with murder and aggravated robbery. He is jailed on a $1 million bond. James Thomas, 50, is charged with aggravated robbery. He is in jail on a $500,000 bond. Both men are from Youngstown and were arraigned on the charges today in municipal court.

Police arrested the two Friday. Police said the men, along with Warren V. Wright, 32, of Youngstown, planned the robbery.

Police said Dumas is accused of committing a felony tied to Wright’s death, and that is why he is charged with murder.

Wright was shot and killed by off-duty police officer Michael Walker. Police said Wright was armed and trying to rob the business.

Walker returned to work last week after a police department internal-affairs investigation showed he followed proper police procedures.
