Toledo bus driver returns wad of cash left on seat
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A bus driver says he never thought for a second about keeping $1,200 in cash he spotted on a seat after finishing his route.
Ron Guy tells The Blade newspaper of Toledo he picked up the money and started counting until he got to a thousand. That’s when he radioed his dispatcher to report what he had found.
Guy drives a paratransit bus in Toledo and transports disabled riders around town.
It turns out the money belonged to a woman with a developmental disability and that she had just cashed her monthly disability check.
The bus driver’s boss says the passenger wouldn’t have been able to pay her bills if she had lost the cash.
